BENEFITS | NAMING OPPORTUNITIES | PLEDGE FORM | APPLICATION
Pride. Prestige. Palmer. The Pack. Moving together with one common goal – to give North Carolina State University the distinction it deserves. A world-class golf course and spectacular clubhouse that will not only entertain, but educate; built not just for the love of the game, but to also provide greater opportunities for success in the game of life.
Lonnie and Carol Lynn Poole believed in this opportunity for success and generously gave the lead gifts to name NC State’s course, the Lonnie Poole Golf Course, and the clubhouse, the Carol Johnson Poole Clubhouse. Mr. Poole graduated from NC State in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and founded Waste Industries USA, Inc. in 1970. He has been active on several board and foundations at NC State and has consistently supported many programs and projects at the University. In December 2010, Mr. Poole gave NC State the largest gift in its history: $40 million to endow the Poole College of Management and name the Clubhouse for his wife.
To move the course and clubhouse to the next level, NC State is seeking private, philanthropic support to finish the golf course fundraising, maintain the course and grounds, and build the Carol Johnson Poole Clubhouse. While many of the elements of the course have been named (such as the driving range, the practice putting green, and all of the holes), additional naming opportunities for the golf course and clubhouse are available.
Become a CHARTER PARTNER with a minimum gift of $10,000 to learn about the advantages of giving your financial support to the Lonnie Poole Golf Course and Carol Johnson Poole Clubhouse. Review the Naming Opportunities [hot link] available, complete and submit your Pledge Form today, and join scores of other alumni and friends in providing NC State and Raleigh this prestigious golf facility.
